The distinctive red soil around parts of the Brislington area is known as 'Red Marl' and well remembered by all pupils, particularly when playing sports.

The roof of the new [2009] multipurpose hall, catches rainwater in a 20,000 gallon tank, which in turn is used for flushing toilets throughout the new building.
